My name is Ave Granli Johnsen. I was born June 25th 1982 in Eidsvoll, Norway and I grew up in a little town called Jessheim, about 45 min north from the main capital Oslo, where I know reside.
I started working in the world of musical theatre at the age of 10 and continued forward after receiving the major role of a cunning little brother in a Norwegian drama feature in 1993, to then taking on various jobs in the theatre and in front of the camera. In between working as a performer I have attended schools and colleges that specialise in fields of musical theatre, dance and acting. I am now a 26-year-old professional musical theatre artist, dancer and choreographer with a 3-year degree in Acting from the Hartvig Nissen Performing Arts Dramatic, 2-year degree in Musical Theatre at the Bårdar Academy of Performing Arts, and finally a Bachelor of Honours degree in Dance from the Liverpool Institute for the Performing Arts (LIPA). Here I spent 3 years developing my dance technique to a high level within various contemporary- and jazz styles. I also had lessons in tap and contact improvisation, in addition to getting a fundamental training in classical ballet. LIPA also offered courses in acting and singing, which have consolidated my 2 years of singing and acting lessons at the Bårdar Academy. I have developed into a strong all around dancer and musical artist who likes to take on new challenges as often as I can, with conviction and energy. I am hardworking, head strong and work well with others. One of my big mottos in life is “There is always a solution to everything, it is just a matter of finding it”, a motto I have had to used a lot in my line of work. |
